1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Quidition.com ("Quidition", "we", "us") handles personal information for players, hosts and visitors of Quidition.com. If you have questions about this policy, contact us via the in-app Feedback page.
2. What data we collect and store
The following information is stored in our database when you use the site:
- Account & profile: email address, chosen display name, optional avatar, account creation date, and (for paying members) your membership number.
- Authentication: encrypted credentials or third-party sign-in identifiers (Google, Apple) managed by our authentication provider.
- Roles: whether your account has admin or moderator permissions.
- Quiz play data: guest display names you enter for a game, answers you submit, response times, scores, tokens earned, and top-score entries linked to your account or guest ID.
- Custom & quick quizzes you create: quiz titles, subtitles, round configuration, questions, correct answers, subcategories, and scheduling information.
- AI-generated content: the prompts you submit for AI question generation and the questions returned.
- In-quiz chat: short chat messages (up to 300 characters) posted in a quiz lobby or end-of-quiz screen. These are automatically deleted when the quiz starts or finishes.
- Payments & subscriptions: subscription status, plan, renewal dates, and Stripe customer / subscription identifiers. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and are never stored by Quidition.
- Feedback: any feedback you submit through the Feedback page.
- Email activity: transactional email send logs, delivery state, unsubscribe tokens and suppression records.
- Voting & entries: cash-prize interest votes, question bonuses and question-pack purchases you make.
3. How we use your data
- To run quizzes, record scores and display leaderboards.
- To let you create, host and replay custom or quick quizzes.
- To manage sign-in, subscriptions and payments.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, receipts).
- To improve the service, moderate content and prevent abuse.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting and database provider, Stripe (payments), and our email delivery provider. Display names, avatars and scores you post to public leaderboards or chat are visible to other players.
5. Retention
- Account and profile data: kept for as long as your account exists.
- Chat messages: deleted automatically when a quiz starts or ends.
- Quiz answers and runtime state: cleared when the quiz is reset, replayed, or auto-closed one hour after starting.
- Top scores: kept indefinitely as an all-time leaderboard.
- Payment records: retained as long as required for tax and accounting.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and local storage only for essentials: keeping you signed in, remembering your guest name during a quiz, and processing checkout. We do not use advertising trackers.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time — see our GDPR page for details on how to exercise these rights.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Quidition.com after an update means you accept the revised policy.
